Which type of test do I need?
Please confirm with your airline and local health regulator per your destination to determine which test is required before we book your test. It is your responsibility to check with the airlines and the destination country for their entry requirements. These requirements change from time to time.
When should I book my test?
Different destinations have different testing time interval requirements. Please check with your airline and the destination country for specific time requirements. Some airlines or countries require a test within 72 hours of departure while others state 72 hours of arrival which will affect when you should book your test.
When can I expect my results?
Antigen tests and rapid NAAT’s produce results within around 20 minutes. If you are traveling on the same day as you are being tested, we strongly recommend having your documentation printed on-site immediately following your test. Your documentation will be made available online on your TELLA portal within around 2 – 4 hours.
Results for PCR test results will be made available via your TELLA portal within around 24-48 hours depending on the location at which you are tested. Please see individual location booking pages for more details.
Do I need a documentation of results to travel?
Some countries require documentation of results or travel certificate. You will need to confirm with your airline and destination country to see if they require one. You can also check out the IATA widget for the latest updates.
How will I receive my results?
After your test had resulted, your document will be available for download from our TELLA platform. Once you’ve made your appointment, you will receive an email from donotreply@tellahealth.ca with your portal login details.
For antigen testing and rapid, NAAT’s, you are also able to have your documentation printed on-site once your test has resulted.
Do I need to bring anything to my test?
Yes, please bring the passport you will use for traveling with you to the test site, as well as your BC Health Care Card Number.

Can I make changes to, or cancel my appointment if necessary?
Yes, we can make changes to testing appointments. Please call us for changes or cancellations or you can also make changes through the links at the bottom of your confirmation email.
You can cancel your appointment at no charge if it is earlier than 24 hours from your appointment date.
What if I need my PCR results sooner than 48 hours?
In some circumstances we can offer a rushed PCR in a shorter time frame however there is an additional cost. Please call for eligibility.
Will a recent COVID vaccine affect my test results?
No, vaccines will not alter your test results, even if administered within 24 hours.
Can kids under 12 be tested?
Yes, with parental consent and oversight.
Can I book a test even if I’m not travelling?
Yes, we can provide testing for other purposes, however we do not offer testing to SYMPTOMATIC patients. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please call 811 and visit your nearest public health test centre.
Do you offer NAAT (nucleic acid amplification tests) or molecular tests?
NAAT and molecular tests are actually categories of tests. A PCR test counts as both a NAAT and a molecular test.
What is the specificity and sensitivity of your antigen tests?
Our antigen tests are viral tests of international standard. They meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity and ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml.
What happens if my results are delayed?
Although Whitecap RSC Medical will do its’ best to provide professional service in a timely manner, there may be rare occasions in which we make a mistake that results in the agreed-upon test result not being delivered in the agreed-upon time. If Whitecap RSC Medical is entirely at fault for this error, it may, on a case by case basis, choose to assist travelers with the re-booking fee of a resulting missed flight. This amount will be limited to a maximum of $2000 CAD.
